My Story

I quit drinking in September of 2023 after I drank way too much alcohol and acted like a fool. For years, I told myself I would get my drinking under control. The truth is I had no stopping power once I got going. I didn’t know my limit and finally realized that I would never find it.

Once I stopped, my first thought was, “Ok, what do I drink now when I go out?”. I still liked being social and going out with friends. I don’t like soda, water is boring and I didn’t want non-alcoholic beers. Also, who wants to spend $15+ on a mocktail that is full of sugar? "What am I going to drink now?" I wanted the feeling that I had something special in my glass and I was still part of the party. I looked at adaptogenic and nootropic drinks. I liked having something that made me feel relaxed and social without the harmful effects. They still didn’t fully solve my problem.

That is when I decided to start my own drink company. A powdered packet you could take anywhere in your pocket or purse. A product that tastes great, looks like a cocktail, and has adaptogens and nootropics to help you feel social and fun.

DYO is the representation of three things:
 
First, it represents Dionysus the greek god of wine and party. He says it is ok not to drink alcohol, because you have DYO in your glass. 
 
Second, encourages you to “Do Your Own Thing”. Hey, it’s ok that others drink alcohol, but I am going to "Do My Own Thing" and drink DYO instead. We can still have a great time together (just without the hangovers or regrets). 
 
Last, it helps you “Defy Your Odds”. For many people, like myself we struggle with alcohol and the addiction to it. Everyday you wake up and "Defy Your Odds" of having that drink. DYO is here for you. 
 
We are excited about our Party On and Chillax drink mixes with a lot of great plans and flavors for the future. We take our products and our customers very seriously at DYO and strive to deliver the best. Otherwise, we try not to take ourselves too seriously with everything else.

My goal is for everyone to be included and have fun, because you don’t need alcohol to have a good time!
